Arkansas park to present 'Archeology of Washington'

Historic Washington State Park in Arkansas invites visitors for dinner, a tour and an "Archeology of Washington" presentation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Participants are asked to meet at Williams Tavern restaurant to begin the tour.

45th Jonquil Festival set for this weekend at Ark. park

Jonquils are in bloom at Historic Washington State Park in Arkansas, and a tremendous line-up of entertainment and fun await those who will be visiting the park on March 15 through 17 for the 45th Annual Jonquil Festival.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and  9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. General Admission is free, with a $5 fee for parking. Park tours and programs are available at regular price with tour stops such as the BW Edwards Weapons Museum, Print Shop and the Blacksmith Shop, along with many more on the schedule.

A winter storm that hit the Alva, Okla., area, has pushed back a day the scheduled three-game Great American Conference series between Southern Arkansas and Northwestern Oklahoma to Saturday, February 23.
