Historic Washington State Park is hosting Frontier Days for Home Schools, which starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 15. Students will see how the pioneers from the 19th century worked and lived.

The name of the woman who was killed and those that were injured in the Friday (Nov. 16) accident on I-30 in Hempstead County have been released.

SAU high school basketball invitational starts Monday

The annual Southern Arkansas University high school boy’s and girl’s basketball invitational tournament is scheduled for next week at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center. A total of six boy’s and eight girl’s teams will vie this year for the tournament championships.

The invitational tips off Monday, with games also scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday, November 28-29, and Saturday, December 1.

Christmas and Candlelights coming up at Hist. Washington State Park

Historic Washington State Park celebrates the holidays with its 26th Annual Christmas and Candlelight event, which runs from December 1st and December 8th. The park will open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., but the best way to enjoy the music and lights is to begin your visit in the late afternoon.

Tickets available for the Heart of Texas Bowl

Fans making the trip to Texas for the Muleriders’ appearance in the 2012 C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl are now able to purchase game tickets through the Southern Arkansas athletic department.

The first-ever Division II C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl is scheduled for 7p.m. on December 1 in Copperas Cove, Texas, at Copperas Cove High School’s Bulldawg Stadium. Tickets are $20 each and will allow admission to the Division II game as well as a junior college game played earlier the same day.
