Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank's Mobile Pantry will travel to Lafayette County on Thursday, September 27. Harvest Texarkana will hand out pantry boxes and USDA goods from 10 a.m. - noon from their parking spot at 827 Central Avenue in Stamps.

Arkansas man sentenced after defrauding $8M from investors

An Arkansas man convicted of illegally taking in almost $8 million in a gas well selling scheme will spend close to five year in prison.

51-year-old Jeffrey Scott Rand of Hot Springs was sentenced to 57 months in prison for selling interests in a gas well that he did not own, defrauding 138 victims out of nearly $7.9 million.  The sentence was handed down in Hot Springs Federal Court by the Honorable Robert Dawson, United States District Court Judge.
