Ouachita Baptist makes changes at Lile Hall, Evans Center

When students at Ouachita Baptist University return to campus this fall, they will be greeted with two major renovation projects in Lile Hall and Evans Student Center, including the debut of Dr. Jack’s Coffeehouse.

Mineral Springs Hornets team camp a success

Mineral Springs hosted a team camp for several area football squads recently. According to Hornet head coach Nick Evans, around 150 athletes from Horatio, DeQueen, Ashdown, Foreman and Mineral Springs took part in the one day event.

The Hornets are scheduled to travel to England on August 23rd to participate in a pre-season scrimmage that will also include Dumas and Barton. The first regular season game is slated for August 31st against Fouke.

Folks in one SW Arkansas city were asked to approve a tax increase, while another city just to the west wanted permission to sell bonds for improvements and refinancing. Both cities got what they wanted.

SW AR Food Bank coming to Lafayette County

Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank will bring its Mobile Pantry to Lafayette County from 10 a.m. - noon on Thursday, June 28. It's truck will be set up at 827 Central Ave. in Stamps, AR.

Volunteers are needed to help load boxes into cars and help recipients with the short application. If you can volunteer, please call Harvest Texarkana at 870-774-1398.
