Lafayette County man killed after Thursday afternoon accident

A Lafayette County man was killed Thursday in a one-vehicle accident. Arkansas State Police say the accident happened about two miles south of Bradley on Hwy. 29. Police say the driver was heading north on the highway when for some reason he ran off the road, jumped a 20 ft. ditch and hit a utility pole. Police have not released the name of the driver.

Roy Ethridge shot this video of an accident this morning on I-30 east of Texarkana. State Police say no one was injured, but traffic was backed up for about a mile in the eastbound lane. State Police say the truck was not carrying anything hazardous.

Stacey Alvarez shot these pictures of an overturned 18-wheeler on I-30 between Fulton and Texarkana. Arkansas State Police Trooper John Talley said the wreck happened about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday morning. Apparently the driver, who was heading west out of Memphis, fell asleep. The truck went into the median, the driver went back across the highway, hit a guardrail and flipped over. The driver was hauling truck parts. No one was hurt.

FOUKE, AR (KSLA) – The Miller County Sheriff's Office says they're looking for the driver and other passengers who were in an 18-wheeler that overturned Tuesday afternoon, spilling its load of sand and closing down part of the road.

Police say the truck , which was hauling sand out of Springhill, LA, overturned on North Fouke Road between Hwy. 549 and Hwy. 71.

2 SW AR airports get federal money for construction & repairs

SW ARKANSAS (KSLA) – A pair of SW Arkansas airports will get federal money for construction and improvement projects.

The Magnolia Municipal Airport will get $480,000 to build an apron for extra aircraft parking. The Nashville-Howard County Airport will get $293,092 to repair and expand the apron and to install a vertical/visual guidance system to make the airport more accessible to pilots.
